In this month’s Hospital Impact, I address the issue of human rights discrimination and its economic impact on all of us in healthcare. Whether individuals agree on rights for: minorities, illegal aliens, or same sex marriage (as I discuss in the referenced blog), the challenge with not offering them affordable healthcare insurance coverage is that we call pay for it through inevitable cost shifting and the higher cost of care for everyone.
Please take a moment to read this brief blog and let me know what you think about equal rights for all versus equal rights for a few, particularly in light of the economic and health impact to these individuals that are often based upon deeply held moral and religious beliefs.
